Why beeswax

Beeswax has been used for centuries across Greece (especially in the Orthodox tradition), where beeswax candles are valued for their purity and symbolic meaning in prayer, ritual and celebration.
Beyond that history, beeswax candles offer a natural warm glow and a soft honeyed scent. It is also a material that already exists, a natural by-product of the hive, shaped through the life of the bees. For us, that matters. It means working with something connected to the natural world, rather than a synthetic substitute. 

 

 

  1. Trim the wick to about 6 mm before lighting.
  2. On the first burn, let the melt pool reach the edges (helps prevent tunneling).
  3. Burn on a stable, heat-safe surface, away from drafts.
  4. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep away from children and pets.
  5. Keep the flame away from anything flammable, and stop burning when little wax remains.
